General
Q. Will I be able to import a virtual background in Teams?
A. Microsoft Teams has not yet released the option of having custom virtual backgrounds, until they release that feature we can only provide instructions for built-in backgrounds.
Q. Why isn't everyone's video showing in a group call?
A. In video calls, the last 4 speakers that have spoken will be displayed on the larger window. Zoom
Q. Can I synchronize my status from Zoom, Teams, and Jabber so people know when I am in a meeting or on a call ?
A. Unfortunately, not at this time, we will be updating you guys if any updates occur that will allow this feature to work.
Q. Can I add an external person to my team ?
A. Teams is intended for internal use only.
Q. Can I edit or delete my messages in Teams ?
A. The ability to edit or delete messages once sent is disables in Team at Smith & Howard. The intent of Teams is to allow it to be used as an alternative to sending an email. As such messages can not be edited to ensure the message maintain the same quality of record as an email has regarding what was sent and received.
Q. Why can't I share my team with another person from another company ?
A. Teams is intended to be a replacement for Jabber and is as such for internal use only.
Q. What's the difference between team channels and private chats ?
A. Team channels are places where everyone on the team can have a conversation. Private chats are only visible to those people on the chat. A channel can also have people added and removed, a team channel can also have tabs for things like - Planner, Streams, Documents, and Calendars.
Q. Is it ok to join a Teams meeting that is coordinated outside of the firm?
A. Joining an outside Teams Meeting/teams/orgs is fine.
Q. My audio isn't working, what should I do?
A. If other participants can't hear you, or you can hear the participants in the call, you can make a test call using these instructions - Test Call in Teams
