Overview:
This article will guide affected members through resolving the blank spreadsheet when exporting CaseWare files as Excel files. As this was tested and confirmed to be affected with a version of DataSnipper, we will be reviewing and working on a fix, this is a quick work around by disabling the add-in through Excel options menu.
Excel: Disabling the DataSnipper Add-in:
- Disable the DataSnipper Add-in by clicking Files > More > Options

Once in the Options Menu, click on Add-ins and find the DataSnipper add-in under the Active Application Add-ins section

Next step is to navigate to the Manage dropdown, select COM Add-ins and click Go
- In the COMs Add-ins Menu uncheck DataSnipper and select Ok, the DataSnipper add-in should then disappear from the add-in ribbon at the top of the Excel Spreadsheet.
- Once the DataSnipper ribbon is confirmed to be a disabled add-in, navigate to the CaseWare Client file and export the needed file as an Excel again where it should open with data displayed! Please Note that if you need to use DataSnipper follow these steps and check the checkbox next to DataSnipper in the COM Add-In menu
