Overview:


This guide will how you how to determine which server your current file is on, as well as how to delete your copy.


Determining the Server:

  1. With the CaseWare file open, click on the small triangle in the bottom right corner of the CaseWare window.
  2. Click on "Properties" from the options.
  3. This will bring up a window that shows the path of the parent file. Take note of what comes after the initial \\. If it says SHCWS3, the file is on the Smart Sync Server. If it says us.casewarecloud.com, the file is on the CaseWare Cloud.



How to Delete Your Copy:

  1. The CW properties will also show the path for your local sync copy. If you have not contributed that needs to be synced, you can delete your copy.
  2. Open your File Explorer and follow your local path, stop once you are in the folder for your username or the %username% folder depending on what your path says. If you cannot find the Program Data folder, go to the view tab, and check the "show hidden items" box.

  3. Find the folder that matches the one from the file path. Right click and select Delete.

  4. Then you can reopen the file from the correct server.
