Overview:
This article is the manual fix for fixing the Parent Sync Copy "Deleted" state issue. This helps reconnect any CW files that have had offline work conducted. This will reconnect all copies back to parent
NOTE:
The technology team must perform these steps to all affected parent files and team members must do this to local files for this fix to work.
Coordinate with any team members to follow these steps so their changes can sync up to the parent as well!

- Clearing the SCI files
Identifying an affected file:
- Identify the CW File being affected
- First open the file and ensure you see the "Could not connect to Parent"
- 2nd and most importantly look at the SmartSync PROPERTIES.

- If it says Deleted for the parent file, this means the file needs to be replaced.
Clearing the SCI files:
- Take note of where this file is saved based off your "Recent Files" view.

Close CaseWareand open the file explorer path of where the file is saved.

- Once you are in the main folder path make sure you can see Hidden Items. Select the View tab and checkbox "Hidden Items"
- Your CW files may be saved in 1 of the following paths
- C:\Program Files (x86)\CaseWare\Data

C:\ProgramData\SmithHoward\CWSS\Username
- NOTE: With an unexpected issue this could literally say %username%
- Open your File's "Sync" folder.
- Categorize the files by the "type" column.

Make sure CW is closed and then delete all "SCI" file types ONLY
- Close file explorer. Wait until Technology team has cleared SCI files for parent copy.
