Requirements:
- Confirm the update installer has been pushed to your machine.
- All Microsoft Office programs (including Outlook) must be closed.
- All binders in Engagement must be synchronized back to the CFR.
- Engagement must be closed.

Section 1: Program Installation
- Open the PF-fiX – PFX Utilities program from your desktop or Start menu
- Select the CCH Pfx Engagement tab and click the Update Engagement applet.
3. When the InstallShield Wizard opens, click “Next” to continue. On the next screen with the warning, choose the radio button that says “I have read the above warning…” and then click “Next”:
4. Click “Install” and the installation will continue for between 5-10 minutes, and you will see multiple tasks being performed in addition to the progress bar.

Section 2: Completion and final Steps

To verify it was successfully installed, launch Engagement and check the version on the login window to verify it matches the version when you were told the program update was ready:
- NOTE: PFX Engagement's version is upgraded to 2025.2.1
*NOTE* DO NOT login yet until completing the next step below.
2. After you confirmed the version and that the installation was successful, launch Microsoft Word and then Microsoft Excel individually to check for errors. Depending on the update, you might receive a prompt about making the
Engagement installation directory a “trusted location”. You should click “Yes” to continue. At this point you can open Outlook again and begin using any other Microsoft Office programs.
3. If you are in your office, you can then enter your name and password and go directly into Engagement. If you are somewhere in the field, make sure your corporate VPN is connected before continuing.
4. As long as there are no error messages, you can go back to work as normal. But if during any part of these instructions you receive a message or other indication that the installation wasn’t completely successful, the
Helpdesk immediately for remediation.
Section 3: Fixing Blank Programs
1. If your pinned taskbar or Start menu icon appears blank after the update, right-click the blank icon.
2. Select Unpin from taskbar or Unpin from Start.
3. Right-click the main program shortcut on your Desktop and choose to pin it again to the taskbar or Start menu
